Samarind Supports a Lifetime of Achievement In Regulatory Affairs

Congratulations to Professor Stuart Walker

Samarind offers its warm congratulations to Professor Stuart Walker on his winning the TOPRA Lifetime Achievement Award 2011. Professor Walker received this prestigious award in recognition of his highly significant contribution to the regulatory affairs profession over more than 25 years.

Professor Walker was presented with the award by Miranda Pothiawala, Software Director at Samarind, providers of the award winning regulatory affairs management software Samarind RMS, who supported the award this year. Miranda commented, "I'd like to offer my personal congratulations to Professor Walker on winning this award, and for his achievements spread over many years working within the regulatory affairs profession. He has made many significant contributions to the RA profession and to the medicines and healthcare industry, including his work at the Institute of Regulatory Science and of course the University of Cardiff. As Samarind is based in Wales it nice to have the Welsh connection. Professor Walker had to fly out to Australia almost immediately after the award ceremony, which demonstrates his continued commitment to his work. He thoroughly deserves the award.

"We were also delighted to be able to continue our association with and support for TOPRA through our sponsorship of this prestigious award for 2011 under the banner of Samarind RMS. We hope to be involved in the 2012 Regulatory Affairs Awards in a similar capacity and with what looks to be a significant year ahead, the regulatory affairs awards are perhaps even more important to the RA profession.

"We look forward to what will undoubtedly be a challenging 12 months, particularly with the introduction of the EU mandate for XEVMPD. Our development team is working fastidiously on the updates to Samarind RMS to ensure our customers are able to meet their obligations well ahead of the July 2012 deadline."

Samarind RMS is an innovative regulatory tracking database with integrated document management and eCTD creation tools. Users in over 100 countries agree that the system is quick to learn and easy to use, with superbly flexible reporting facilities and excellent security. Samarind is in the late stages of development of updating its EVMPD features to meet the mandatory requirements of XEVMPD.
